Contact ascendo3
Invigorating international collaborations with contemporary composers…masterful programming of new acoustic and electroacoustic works…fresh, bold presentations of works by J. S. Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Poulenc, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Piazzolla, Bernstein, Lennon-McCartney and others…flexible, intriguing interactions with audiences, and an authentic dedication to recording…this and more is Ascendo3!

As composer William Whitley, PhD, wrote following the trio’s recent concert, master classes, and Composer’s Workshop at Western Oregon University, this trio of saxophones and piano not only performs with “such passion and focus,” but “is a tremendous gift to living composers…an uncommon commitment.”

Comprised of Anna Marie Wytko (saxophones), Cameron Hofmann (piano), and Joseph Wytko (saxophones), Ascendo3 has been labeled as “extraordinary” by the Dean of the Arizona State University Emeritus College (Leonard Gordon), while the Wickenbug Sun (AZ) described their recent community series performance as “masterful programming – flawless performances – complete command of their instruments – a rare listening experience.”

Upcoming performances feature Ascendo3 in concert at California State University at Los Angeles, Chapman Conservatory of Music, and in New Mexico as part of the Abiquiu Chamber Music Festival.  A concert tour in France, as well as a mid-west performance tour in the United States, is being finalized for Spring 2014, and the ensemble will soon release plans for events in China during Summer 2014.

Recent concerts and master class appearances include, for example, those in Paris, in Oregon at George Fox University and Western Oregon University, in Colorado at Fort Lewis College, throughout Arizona as part of various state community concert series’, and at Arizona State University’s Louise Lincoln Kerr Cultural Center.  The ensemble has also performed at the University of Minnesota and Kansas State University.
